Making one video per product, customer or promo, one at a time in an editor, eats hours and every piece comes out slightly different. Remotion builds the video with React code: you design the template once, plug in your data (name, price, photo) and it renders as many versions as you need.
Who this is NOT for
This is not a CapCut-style editor. If nobody on your team writes React, or at least drives a coding agent, you will not get far here. It does offer drag-and-drop editing, but its own README says code is the source of truth. If you make two or three videos a month, each one different, stick with your usual editor. And if your company already has 4 or more people, plan on paying for the Company License before you use it for real.
The obvious alternative is a video editor, and the difference is volume. An editor pays off when every video is unique. Remotion pays off when video number 50 is just as clean as the first because it comes from the same data. The classic mistake is using it for a single creative piece: there the coding costs more than it saves. Its edge right now is that it is built for coding agents: you describe the video and the agent writes the template. The repo is alive (last commit on October 13, 2026 itself, and over 63k stars). Heads up: the LICENSE warns the license changes "slightly" with Remotion 5.0, so check it before building on top of it.
Your first step
If you already have Node.js installed, run npx create-video@latest, pick a template and change one piece of text to watch the video update on its own. If you do not have Node.js, start with the installation page at remotion.dev/docs.
